General Questions
Dredge Yard specializes in three main types of dredgers: Cutter Suction Dredgers (CSD) ranging from 300mm to 650mm discharge diameter, Auger Suction Dredgers (ASD) for precision environmental dredging, and Water Injection Dredgers (WID) for efficient sediment fluidization. All our dredgers are designed for container shipping and quick assembly on-site.
Our headquarters is in Dubai, UAE. We also have offices in Dordrecht, Netherlands, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Tangerang, Indonesia to serve our global customer base. Our engineering teams work closely with partners worldwide to deliver tailored dredging solutions.
Dredge Yard was founded in 2008 and has over 15 years of experience in designing, engineering, and supplying dredging equipment. We have successfully partnered with shipyards, contractors, and port authorities across Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
Yes, we specialize in custom-engineered dredging solutions. Our engineering team works closely with clients to understand their specific requirements, site conditions, and operational needs. We can modify our standard designs or develop entirely new solutions to meet your project requirements.
Choosing the Right Dredger
The right dredger size depends on several factors:
Use our Dredger Comparison Tool to compare specifications, or contact us for a personalized recommendation.
- Production requirements - How much material needs to be moved per hour/day
- Dredging depth - Maximum water depth at your site
- Material type - Sand, clay, silt, or mixed materials
- Pumping distance - How far the material needs to be transported
- Site accessibility - Transport and assembly constraints

Cutter Suction Dredgers (CSD) use a rotating cutter head to cut and loosen material before suction. They are ideal for harder materials like compacted sand, clay, and soft rock, and offer higher production rates.
Auger Suction Dredgers (ASD) use a screw-type auger head that gently conveys material to the suction mouth. They create less turbidity and are preferred for environmental dredging, sensitive ecosystems, and precision work where minimal disturbance is required.

Water Injection Dredgers are ideal for maintenance dredging in navigational channels, harbors, and tidal waterways. They work by fluidizing sediments with high-pressure water jets, allowing natural currents to transport the material. Benefits include: no discharge pipeline needed, high efficiency in silt and sand, low fuel consumption, and minimal environmental impact. They are not suitable for hard materials or when material needs to be transported to a specific location.
Production rates vary by model and material type:
Actual production depends on site conditions, pumping distance, and material characteristics. Contact us for a detailed production estimate for your project.
| Model | Sand (m³/hr) | Clay (m³/hr) |
|---|---|---|
| CSD 300 | 1,200 | 400 |
| CSD 450 | 2,800 | 900 |
| CSD 650 | 7,000 | 1,650 |

Yes, we strongly recommend purchasing a recommended spare parts package with your dredger. These packages are tailored to your specific equipment and operational intensity, typically covering 1-2 years of operation. We also maintain stock of common spare parts for quick delivery and offer ongoing spare parts supply throughout the equipment lifecycle.
Absolutely. We supply a full range of dredging components including dredge pumps, cutter heads, valves, ball joints, booster stations, and more. These components are compatible with various dredger brands and can be used for new builds, upgrades, or replacements. Visit our Components page for details.
Delivery & Installation
Lead times vary based on dredger size and specifications:
Custom designs may require additional engineering time. We provide detailed project schedules during the quotation process.
- Small dredgers (CSD 300-400): 4-6 months
- Medium dredgers (CSD 450-500): 6-9 months
- Large dredgers (CSD 600-650): 9-12 months
Custom designs may require additional engineering time. We provide detailed project schedules during the quotation process.
All our dredgers are designed for container shipping. The equipment is disassembled into modular sections that fit standard shipping containers (20ft and 40ft). This enables cost-effective transport to any port worldwide and simplifies customs clearance. We handle all export documentation and can arrange door-to-door logistics through our shipping partners.
Yes, we offer comprehensive supervision and commissioning services:
Assembly typically takes 2-4 weeks depending on dredger size and site conditions.
- Assembly supervision by our experienced engineers
- System testing and commissioning
